Hi everyone, I was prescribed Hydrocortisone 1% Ointment 28gm for my eczema, which has been flaring up lately. I've heard it can cause some serious side effects, which makes me a bit nervous. I've read it can help with redness, itching, and swelling, which would be great. But I'm worried about the potential for allergic reactions, high blood sugar, or even Cushing's syndrome – those symptoms sound scary. Has anyone else had any bad experiences with this? How did you deal with the side effects and how long did it take for you to recover? I'm curious to hear from others who've used it, especially those who experienced any of the more serious side effects listed.

I've always used it for insect bites, and I've never had an issue. But I've also been pretty careful with it, so maybe that’s why? Just make sure to read the instructions carefully and don’t be too hasty with the application. Sometimes less is more.

Oh, definitely. I've seen the same for a friend and her baby. The first time she used Hydrocortisone, her baby had a mild reaction. But they were super cautious, talked to their pediatrician, and they got through it. Just be careful and listen to your doctor.

I used it for my kid's eczema and it worked like a charm. But yeah, be careful with the dosage. Too much can lead to thinning of the skin, which can be a real pain to deal with. Always best to start with a small amount.

Always good to hear the bad experiences as well. You know, learn from other people mistakes. But Hydrocortisone is sometimes the only help for my skin, so it’s worth trying. Just take it slow, you’ll be fine.
