I was prescribed Nutrilipid 20% Emulsion for Inj, 500ml to provide my body with energy and essential fats while I recover from surgery. I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions, pancreatitis, and liver problems. Has anyone else had experience with this? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad, and any tips you might have for managing side effects or general advice on dealing with this medication.

Be careful with it, you really shouldn’t use while you are pregnant I think. I might be wrong, but it’s better to be safe. My sister had to switch from Nutrilipid to another IV blend. She’s got a kiddo so it’s not that big of a deal.

Not sure how I feel about this. Seems too much trouble for just having nausea. I would look for alternatives, but just keep your head up! It can help a lot in the right circumstances.

This is the only thing that helped me get better after a major surgery. Just remember to stay in constant communication with your doctor. If you have any even the slightest pain or change in your skin, call your doc or the nurse. They know the signs and they can help.

OMG, the side effects list is terrifying! How do you deal with anxiety and panic from reading all that? You've got to stay positive, though. It's hard to overcome the anxiety of knowing the possible dangers. Remember that everyone is different and you might not experience these side effects.

I would skip it, if I could choose. But hey, if you have to go for it, then be strong and brave and remember to use a band-aid on the injection point. Helps stop the pain a lot.
