I was recently prescribed Pennsaid 2% Topical Solution for my knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. I've been applying it for a week now, and I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. How long did it take for you to see results? Did you experience any side effects? I've been trying to keep track of any changes in my pain levels and noticed a bit of relief, but it's hard to tell yet if it's just a placebo effect. I'm also worried about the potential side effects, like skin irritation or more serious ones I've read about. Any tips on how to apply it effectively or what to expect would be really helpful! I'm also curious about how it compares to oral NSAIDs I've tried in the past.

How often are you applying it? I was told twice a day, but I've been doing it 3-4 times for extra relief.

I switched from oral NSAIDs to Pennsaid because of stomach issues, and I'm glad I did. The topical solution works just as well for the pain without the gut irritation. Be careful not to apply too much; a pea-sized amount is plenty.

I've been using it for a while and really like it. Just make sure to wash your hands really well afterwards. Not something you want to get on other sensitive areas.

I had a weird rash develop after using Pennsaid for about 10 days, I went to my doctor and they said I was having a reaction to something in the solution. I have been prescribed an alternative solution that I will be trying soon.
