I was recently prescribed Verelan 360mg SR Capsules for my high blood pressure and angina. The doctor explained that it helps relax blood vessels and slows the heart rate. Its a calcium channel blocker, so I’m getting that calcium isn’t going to be entering my heart and blood vessel cells. The doc did mention that this is a sustained release version of Verapamil. I asked if taking it at night is a must or can I switch it to morning? Is it true that it has some serious side effects too? Please share your experiences or any advice you might have. I really appreciate any insight you can provide, especially about the potential side effects and how to manage them. I want to make sure I’m taking this medication safely and effectively.

Good luck with the Verelan! Just remember, if you experience any shortness of breath or significant weight gain, let your doctor know ASAP.

I switched from taking it at night to morning and it worked out for me. I found that taking it in the morning helped me avoid any sleep disturbances. Talk to your doctor about it and see what they say.

Be aware of the potential for a slow heartbeat. I had to adjust my dose a bit to avoid feeling dizzy. If you feel lightheaded or faint, contact your doctor right away.

I've been on Verelan for a while now. It's helped lower my blood pressure significantly, but I did experience some constipation at first. Drinking plenty of water and adding more fiber to my diet helped a lot. Make sure to monitor your blood pressure regularly, especially when you first start taking it.

I found that Verelan helped a lot with my angina too, but I had to be careful with my diet. Avoiding too much salt and eating heart-healthy foods made a big difference.

Wow, that's a high dose! I'm on 240mg and it works fine. Make sure to take it exactly as prescribed and don't skip doses. Consistency is key with this med.

If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, like swelling of the face or throat, seek medical attention immediately. It's rare, but it can happen.
