I've just started taking Xcopri (cenobamate) 100-150mg Maintenance Pak 56 for my focal-onset seizures. My doctor explained that this medication helps by calming overactive electrical signals in the brain, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. I know it's crucial to start at a low dose and increase slowly, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experiences or tips to share. How did you manage the potential side effects? Were there any surprises or unexpectedly helpful strategies? I'd love to hear from anyone who has been through this or knows someone who has. Thanks in advance for your input!

I've been on a bunch of seizure meds and Xcopri has been the best so far. Try to keep a seizure journal and track your symptoms and side effects so you can talk to your doctor about it.

I've been on Xcopri for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for me. I started at the lowest dose and gradually increased it. The side effects were noticeable at first, like dizziness and fatigue, but they subsided after a while. Make sure to keep an open line of communication with your doctor and report any unusual symptoms right away. It's definitely worth it if it helps control your seizures.

I felt like I had the flu for the first few days, but it passed. Hang in there – it might be rough at first, but it could really help you out.

Be very careful and keep an eye out for those serious skin reactions. They’re rare, but when they happen, they can be life-threatening. I heard about someone who had to stop the medication because of severe skin issues. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen to you!

I had some really bad muscle pain and weakness, but it went away after a few weeks. I ended up just taking a few Tylenol to get through it. Stick with it if you can.

Don't forget that some people can have increased suicidal thoughts on this medication. If you notice any changes in your mood or behavior, talk to your doctor ASAP.

I had a lot of weird symptoms in the beginning, but I kept my doctor updated and we adjusted the dosage. It’s all about communication with the healthcare team.

I think it's great that you're taking it slow with the dosage. I tried to rush it and ended up with some pretty nasty side effects. Good luck!
