Just started Xyrem 500mg/ml Solution for narcolepsy — what are your experiences?
I was recently prescribed Xyrem 500mg/ml Solution 180ml for my narcolepsy. It's been a few weeks, and I'm still trying to get used to the nightly dosages. I've noticed some dizziness and occasional stomach discomfort, but I'm hoping these side effects will subside. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Also, how long did it take for you to see improvements in nighttime sleep and daytime sleepiness? Any tips for managing the side effects? I'm curious to hear from others who have been on this medication for a while.

It took about 3 months for me to see any real improvements in my narcolepsy symptoms. Be patient and keep track of your progress so you can discuss it with your doctor.
Can anyone explain what sleep apnea feels like? That's one of the potential side effects that scares me a bit.
I had terrible dreams and some sleep talking at first, but those went away after a few weeks. Just be patient and give your body time to adjust.
Xyrem was a game-changer for me. It took about a month to really kick in, but now I sleep through the night and have way more energy during the day. Stick with it!
I'm on my third month of Xyrem, and I'm still adjusting, but it's been worth it. I've had a few sessions of sleep walking, but other than that, it's been pretty smooth.
Does anyone else feel like they could sleep forever after taking Xyrem? It's crazy how sleepy it makes me. But honestly, it's worth it for the restful sleep.
I wish I could say it was all smooth sailing, but I experienced some pretty bad allergy symptoms. Had to stop taking it. If you notice any rash, blisters, or trouble breathing, get to a doctor ASAP.
I've been on Xyrem for over a year now, and it's made a world of difference. Initially, I had some dizziness, but that went away. Just make sure you're taking the doses as prescribed and not driving or operating heavy machinery after taking it.
I had some weird dreams, but I think that's just the nature of the drug. I worried about sleepwalking, but I haven't had any issues with that. It's made my life so much easier, especially in regards to my narcolepsy and daytime activities.
