Just switched to Apidra Solostar Pen - Any tips or tricks?
I was recently prescribed Apidra Solostar Pen Inj 3ml and I'm looking for any advice or tips on how to best use it. It's a bit different from my previous insulin, so any insights would be great. I'm also a bit worried about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else experienced them? How did you handle it?
Also, does anyone have any advice on how to manage the injection site irritation? I've heard it can be a bit bothersome.

I've had some muscle cramps but nothing too serious. Just make sure you're staying hydrated and eating well. It helps a lot.
Be careful with the timing. I've found it to be a bit too aggressive sometimes, so watch your blood sugar closely after injections.
I've found that switching between arms and legs for the injection site helps keep the irritation down. Don't forget to keep an eye out for lumps or thickening of the skin, that's a sign to change sites.
I used to use another fast-acting insulin, and I find Apidra much easier to use. The pen is convenient, and I don't have to mix anything. Just be careful with the dosages. It's easy to misread the increments.
This is my first time using this. I've heard some pretty scary stories about the side effects, so I'm definitely going to be careful. Thanks for the heads up!
