I recently started using Epifoam 1% Aerosol 10gm for my hemorrhoids. It's a combination of a numbing agent (pramoxine) and a steroid (hydrocortisone) that comes as a foam. It's supposed to relieve pain, itching, and swelling. I've been using it for a few days, and I'm not sure if it's working. Has anyone else tried this? What were your experiences like? Also, I'm a bit worried about the side effects, especially the urgent ones. Any advice on how to manage those? This is my first time using a medication like this, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Epifoam worked great for me. It relieved the itching almost immediately and the swelling went down after a couple of days. Just be sure to keep an eye out for any signs of infection or irritation around the area.

I had a bad reaction to the steroid in it. I got a weird rash and started feeling really tired. I had to stop using it. Just be careful and watch out for any signs of an allergic reaction.

I did not know about the Cushing's syndrome side effects. That's concerning. I will keep an eye out for any of those symptoms.

Be careful with the application. I made the mistake of putting too much on and it stung like crazy. A little goes a long way with this stuff.

Just a heads up, if you experience any severe dizziness or vomiting, it could be a sign of a weak adrenal gland. Definitely worth going to the doctor if that happens.

How about the long term effects? Has anyone experience any lasting issues after stopping the medication?

I had some dryness and itching, but it wasn't too bad. I just used a bit of moisturizer afterward and it helped.

I've been using it for a week now and it's been amazing. I can finally sit comfortably again. Just be patient and give it time to work.
