Just tried Xaciato 2% Vaginal Gel for BV - any tips on side effects?
Hey everyone, I've just started using Xaciato 2% Vaginal Gel for bacterial vaginosis. I know it's a single-dose treatment, but I'm a bit worried about side effects. Has anyone else used this and if so what were your experiences? I've read that serious side effects are rare but it's still scary. I'm hoping to hear some success stories or tips for dealing with any minor issues. I've never had to use a vaginal gel before so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Especially anything to help with discomfort or discharge. TIA!

I didn't have any side effects at all. I used it right before bed and it was fine by morning and had no symptoms.
Xaciato was a game-changer for me. I had BV for months and nothing else worked, I was miserable and desperate. It's a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny. I was so relieved when it finally cleared up.
I was really nervous about using it but I got the okay from my obgyn. I ended up with a lot of constipation. I didn't know that was a possible side effect. Definitely drink a lot of water to stay hydrated. Do you have that problem? I read it might help with discomfort and discharge.
I didn't use this but I've had BV and it's the worst. I wish I could have tried this but my antivirals didn't go well with it. My health insurance probably wouldn't have covered it anyway.
I had a bit of discomfort and some discharge for a day or two, but it was nothing unbearable. Just be prepared for that. Definitely read the instructions carefully, and make sure to contact your doctor if things get worse.
I read somewhere that you can use probiotics to help with BV. I haven't tried it, but there are a lot of suggestions to help with the irritation. I know some people find comfort in that.
I used Xaciato a couple of months ago and it worked great for me. I didn't experience any serious side effects, just a little irritation at first but it went away quickly. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully and if you notice anything unusual, don't hesitate to call your doctor.
Just be proactive with your doctor and keep track of any weird symptoms. It's all about comfort and relief in the end.
