I've been dealing with a stubborn wart on my foot for months, so I finally got Salicylic Acid 26% Liquid to treat it. I applied a small amount as directed, and it stings like crazy. Is this burning sensation normal? I've read about skin irritation, but I'm worried it's too intense. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned about other side effects like dizziness or hearing loss? I know it says to seek medical attention for those, but I want to be prepared. Any tips for making this process more tolerable?

I've used salicylic acid a lot for corns, and there's always a burning sensation when you apply it. It usually calms down after a few minutes. I recommend applying it after a shower, when the skin is soft. It will absorb more. I put it on and then cover the spot with a Band-Aid for at least 24 hours before washing it off and reapplying. I've had a couple of times where it looked like my skin was getting irritated. I gave it a break for a day, then continued. It got rid of the corn within a week each time.

The burning sensation is normal, but if you start feeling dizzy or experience hearing loss, stop using it and get medical help right away. Other serious side effects to be aware of include swelling, hives, and mood changes.

I used it for a corn on my toe, and it was the same thing, it was a burning sensation. I just kept applying it as directed and it finally went away. My corn took about a week to disappear completely.

Wow, that sounds rough. I've never done it, and I'm not looking forward to it. I might try another method. Maybe I can find an essential oil that works.
