For those who are unaware Cystografin is liquid iodine used mostly to help diagnose problems in your urinary tract. It's inserted directly into your bladder using a catheter, and the solution helps with clear x-ray pictures. I've just gone through it and my doctor didn't seem to bring up the potential side effects in much detail so I'm trying to make sure I know what to look out for. According to the documentation serious side effects are rare, but I just want to make sure I have all the right information. Just wanted to open up this discussion to see if anyone else has gone through this procedure and can give some insights.

As someone who experienced an allergic reaction to this medication, I must say it's a very scary thing to experience. The rash was bad, but the hives and difficulty breathing were the most concerning. Seek medical help if you notice any of the signs, please. It's really serious.

If you experience any of the serious side effects, don't take them lightly. I know someone who had seizures after the procedure and it was a real scare. Make sure you have someone with you just in case.

Avoid this! Really? You know what they say, you only really miss something when it's gone. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I went through this last year and had a pretty smooth experience. The doctor said the likelihood of serious side effects was low, and I guess I was lucky. I drank lots of liquids before and after the test. I think that helped a lot.
