I've been using Ketotifen 0.025% (0.035%) Ophthalmic Solution for a few weeks now to deal with my seasonal allergies, and while it has helped with the itching, I can't shake off the worry about potential side effects. The list of urgent side effects is quite alarming, and I'm not sure what to do if I experience any of them. Has anyone else had any bad reactions to this drug? I've read that eye redness is common, but what about more serious issues? I'm also curious about the long-term effects of using this eye drop. I've been considering switching back to regular antihistamines, but I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. Has anyone tried both and can share their experience? Also, how do you report side effects to the FDA?

I had a really bad reaction to Ketotifen. I experienced severe eye irritation and swelling. This was scary and the worst experience I've had with a drug.

Ketotifen is at least as effective as every other allergy eye drop I tried, but a little more prone to side effects for me.

I've been using Ketotifen for a while and haven't had any major issues. Just the occasional eye redness, which goes away quickly.

I'm curious about the long-term effects too. Anyone have experience with that? I’ve only been using it for a few weeks.

I think it's important to note that while the side effects are listed as rare, they can still happen. Always better to be safe and informed!

I've experienced some eye pain and changes in vision when using Ketotifen. It was scary, but my doctor said it was okay, so I just monitor it closely. I've never used any other allergy eye drops so I have nothing to compare it to. I don't think most people have any issues with the drug. I think the best idea is to take the medicine as directed and see how you feel.

I switched to regular antihistamines and it's been fine so far. I had no idea you could report side effects to the FDA. Thanks for the info!

I had no idea you could report side effects to the FDA. Good to know! I’ve had some minor issues with Ketotifen, but nothing serious enough to stop using it. I've never used any other allergy eye drops so I have nothing to compare it to. I think the best idea is to take the medicine as directed and see how you feel.
