Kombiglyze XR 2.5-1000mg Tablets: Managing Type 2 Diabetes with Saxagliptin and Metformin
I've been prescribed Kombiglyze XR 2.5-1000mg Tablets to help manage my type 2 diabetes. It's a combination of saxagliptin and metformin, which together help control blood sugar levels. I'm taking it once a day with my evening meal as instructed. Has anyone else used this medication? I'm curious to know about your experiences, especially with side effects. The possible side effects list is quite long, and I'm a bit nervous about what to expect. The urgent side effects section is particularly concerning, so I hope I don't experience anything like that. I know stomach problems are common when starting the medication, but I'm hoping they subside quickly. Who here has had to deal with the upset stomach, vomiting, or diarrhea? On the other hand, I'm aware that diarrhea is a symptom of low blood sugar, which I'm trying to avoid. Some of the other symptoms listed, like joint pain and signs of a urinary tract infection, are not what I want to deal with.

I'm not on Kombiglyze, but I've heard bad things about some of the side effects. Is it a common combo? I would like to know if my doctor recommends it.
I had a really bad reaction to the metformin part of the combo. I ended up with severe lactic acidosis and was in the hospital for a few days. Definitely talk to your doctor about any family history of metabolic issues.
I can't believe some of the side effects listed, like pancreatitis and UTIs. Those sound really serious. I hope I don't experience anything like that!
I was really worried about the potential allergic reactions, but thankfully I haven't had any issues. Just keep an eye out for any unexpected skin reactions or breathing problems.
In case you have any questions about possible side effects, make sure to contact your doctor and not just go by what you read on the internet.
I switched from another combo because it wasn't working for me, but I'm glad to be on Kombiglyze. The diarrhea wasn't fun, but it’s a small price to pay for stable blood sugar levels.
It's also good to know that the FDA keeps a record of side effects. People should report any unexpected symptoms. It helps with the overall research and safety of the medication.
Some people don't experience any side effects at all. Fingers crossed that's the case for you!
I actually found Kombiglyze to be more effective than just taking metformin alone. The combo really helped lower my blood sugar levels, especially post-meals. I just make sure to keep glucose tablets on hand in case I experience low blood sugar.
I've been on Kombiglyze XR for about six months now. The first few weeks were tough with the stomach issues, but they eventually went away. I did have to call my doctor because of some persistent stomach problems, but it turned out to be nothing serious. Just make sure to stay hydrated and eat light meals. My blood sugar levels have been much more stable since I started taking it.
