I was recently prescribed Lactulose 10gm Oral Sol Packets to manage constipation and help with my liver issues. I've been taking it for a couple of weeks now, and while I've seen some improvement, I'm also experiencing some side effects that I'm not sure about. My doctor mentioned it helps by drawing water into the intestines. I've read that it can cause gas and bloating, but what other side effects should I watch out for? I'm also curious if anyone else has used this for liver issues and how it helped. I've been having some stomach cramps, which are a bit concerning. Does anyone have tips on managing these side effects, or should I be talking to my doctor again?

I take this and it actually helps regulate me. No big stomach cramps or anything, but the gas can be a problem. I just take it before bed and handle the gas in the morning.

Man, I get so much gas from this stuff. Like, whoa. But it does keep me regular and seems to help my liver issues. Just be prepared for some, uh, noise. I am taking the generic equivalent. Hoping this helps but if you experience any weird symptoms, keep your doctor in the loop.

Does anyone know if it's okay to take Lactulose with other stool softeners? My doctor didn't say no, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I mean, I'm already pretty regular with just the Lactulose, but I have some occasional tough days.

So, it's just me or does anyone else have to deal with a ton of gas from lactulose? It's like a bloating factory in there.

I've had the opposite problem. I found out the hard way that you can get diarrhea from taking too much. I got dehydrated and had to go to the hospital because of the diarrhea. Start slow and only increase as directed.

Hey, I have been taking it for a while and I'm just wondering if it is safe to give some to your pets?

I've been on Lactulose for years due to liver problems. It's a game-changer, but the gas can be brutal. I found that taking it with food helps a lot, not to mention it makes my stool softer. Plus, I haven't had those symptoms of high blood sugar. I'll have to mention this to my doctor.

I've been taking Lactulose for a while now, and I've noticed that it really helps with the ammonia levels in my body. My doctor said it traps the ammonia in the gut and helps eliminate it. It's a bit gross to think about, but it works. I wish it didn't smell so bad, though.

I've had to deal with some bad constipation the last couple of days, and I know this stuff helps for that. So, I started taking Lactulose, but I woke up this morning with a rash and some itching. I'm pretty sure this is something I shouldn't ignore. Has anyone else had this reaction?

I had some really bad stomach cramps when I started, but they went away after a week. Just make sure to drink plenty of water and take it consistently. Did your doctor mention how long you'll need to take it? Mine said it could be a long-term thing.
