Lamictal Blue Starter Kit 25mg: My Experience and What to Expect
I just started taking the Lamictal Blue Starter Kit 25mg for my bipolar disorder. I've heard a lot about the side effects, especially the serious skin rash, so I'm starting at the lowest dose. Has anyone else had a similar experience? What should I look out for besides the rash? Any tips for managing the side effects would be appreciated. I'm hoping this will help stabilize my mood swings, but I'm a bit anxious about the potential side effects.

My doctor warned me about the rash and told me to keep an eye out for it. I also experienced a bit of dizziness in the beginning, but it went away after a week or so. If you notice anything weird, definitely call your doctor right away.
I'm on 25mg. I'm just waiting to see if it works. I've never had seizures, and never had any side effects. I haven't had any side effects either. I guess I'm just hoping it will work. If I have to take a different medication, I'm willing to try it. I've never really had any problems with seizures.
I didn't have a good experience. In high school, I got discharged from school because of seizures. No one explained how to dose it correctly. I'm not saying it's wrong to have your doctor explain it to you. But you need to make sure you understand what they mean. I didn't really get the instructions from the doctor, I just took it and did what he said. It was really hard to deal with the seizures, I was a teenager, and I didn't know what to do. I wish I would have spoke up and told someone what I was feeling.
For me, the worst part was the weight gain. It was significant, and it took a while to figure out if it was the meds or just my diet. I ended up changing my diet a bit and that helped control it. I'm glad this medication has helped my moods though, it was really hard to deal with my mood swings.
I think Lamictal was really good for me. 1st month with it was a bit weird. I was so tired and dizzy all the time. I went from not being able to walk 10 steps without being tired and dizzy to having the energy to exercise again. Something drastic really happened. I would recommend just sticking with it and checking in with your doctor. I did!
This medication was a life saver. I had no idea that bipolar disorder is what was causing me to have these bouts of extreme sadness. I had talked to my GP back in 2016. I wish I would have asked for the Lamictal. It's really difficult to find a good doctor who is willing to listen to you and treat you like a human being. They always knew what was wrong with me. But they didn't anything to help me. It's been like that for a long time.
I had such a bad rash with this med, I had a hard time believing it was from it. I noticed it after I started exercising again. I thought what ever it was, it was going to pass. I was wrong. Your body is like a piece of wood, cut into three parts, this medication does the same thing. It cuts you. Be careful!
I'm on the Lamictal 25mg and I didn't get the rash. I've never experienced any really bad side effects at all. I went from a 3rd generation antidepressant to this and I can't believe how much better I feel.
I've been on Lamictal for a while now, and the starting dose was definitely the way to go. It took a bit to find the right dose, but it's been great for my mood swings. Just be careful with the sun; it made me really sensitive at first!
I actually switched from another medication to Lamictal. The starting dose was really easy to handle, but the nausea was pretty bad. But it got better as I increased the dose. I hope it works as well for you!
