Lansoprazole 30mg DR Capsules are a popular medication used to treat conditions like heartburn, acid reflux, and ulcers. By blocking the tiny pumps in your stomach that produce acid, they effectively reduce the amount of acid your stomach makes. While they can be a lifesaver for many, it's crucial to be aware of the potential side effects. This medication can cause serious and potentially life-threatening side effects, including allergic reactions, electrolyte imbalances, kidney problems, and severe skin reactions. It's essential to seek medical help immediately if you experience any of these symptoms. Additionally, there are several other possible side effects that, while less severe, can still impact your daily life. If you or someone you know is taking Lansoprazole, it's important to stay informed and vigilant. This thread is for sharing experiences, asking questions, and discussing the ins and outs of using Lansoprazole 30mg DR Capsules.

Before you start taking it, you should go get a blood test and see if you are deficient in vitamin B12 or magnesium, you can become deficient while on the medication. Also, I think it says on the bottle to use it for only 16 weeks. My doctor prescribed it for me to use longer, but she kept monitoring my levels and then had me stop using it entirely after about a year. I really think that could have been a reason I started feeling so bad before I stopped.

I switched to Prilosec and I feel just as great as I felt on lansoprazole, and i think it's a little bit cheaper. I think the pills are slightly larger too, so that might be a problem for some people.

I've heard that long-term use of Lansoprazole can lead to bone problems. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had the opposite experience. I've been on it for a year with no issues, I actually stopped taking it because I felt better and never had the side effects. I wasn't getting enough B12 or magnesium, but I am taking another medication now that I believe is helping me feel even better. I just haven't noticed any side effects, so maybe we just react to the medicine differently.

I had a really bad reaction to Lansoprazole. I got a rash, hives and my throat felt like it was closing up. I had to go to the ER, and they told me I was having an allergic reaction. Scary stuff!

If you experience severe diarrhea while taking Lansoprazole, don't try to tough it out. This could be a sign of C. diff-associated diarrhea, which can be serious. I'm just thankful I called my doctor right away when I had this issue.

I just started taking Lansoprazole a few days ago, and I'm already feeling better. Fingers crossed that I don't experience any side effects!

I've been on Lansoprazole for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my acid reflux. No more late-night heartburn attacks!

Be careful with this stuff. I took it for a while and started experiencing some pretty nasty side effects, and i had to stop taking it. I ended up getting kidney issues.
