I've been taking Isentress (Raltegravir) for a few months now, and while it's been effective in managing my HIV-1 infection, I've been experiencing some troubling side effects. I've read that most people don't experience severe side effects, but I've been dealing with issues like trouble sleeping, headaches, and feelings of weakness. I've also been a bit worried about the more serious side effects mentioned, such as liver problems and severe skin reactions. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'd love to hear some tips on managing these side effects or if anyone knows if these symptoms will subside over time. I'd also appreciate any advice on when to consult my doctor about these issues. The side effects listed are daunting, and I want to be proactive about my health.

I've been on Isentress for a while and experienced similar issues at first. It took a few months, but I got used to it. Stick with it and talk to your doctor about any concerns.

I started having severe allergic reactions and severe skin reactions, and had to switch to another medication. If you notice anything that seems like it could be an allergic reaction, get to the ER. It's not worth the risk.

I'm on the same meds, and I swear by taking ginger tea for upset stomach and headaches. Not a cure but helps a lot.

I wish I could say there was a quick fix for the side effects, but everyone's experience is different. It sucks, but you just have to keep communicating with your doctor to see what works for you.

I've heard that some people experience something called immune reconstitution syndrome when starting HIV treatment. You should definitely talk to your doctor about any new symptoms, no matter how small they seem.
