Hello everyone, I just started my loved one on Leqembi and was wondering if anyone else has experience with this treatment. I'm curious to hear about any side effects you've noticed, how it's been administered, and if you've seen any improvements in cognitive function. I've been reading about the potential side effects, such as allergic reactions and neurological symptoms, and I'm a bit nervous. Has anyone had to deal with any of these issues? Also, I'm interested to know if anyone has had issues with accessibility or insurance coverage. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

The FDA has a hotline for side effects! https://www.fda.gov/medwatch/

Watching my grandfather go through this is heartbreaking and I hate these IV's. I wouldn't do it even if it was me

I was shocked to hear about the potential neurological symptoms. I hope it's not too rough for others

I started my mom on Leqembi a few months ago, and while she hasn't had any serious side effects, I have noticed a slight improvement in her cognitive function. I've seen her getting better at remembering things and recognizing faces. I also had to get pre-approval from the insurance, but it was a relatively smooth process. Here are a few references I used to get through the process: https://www.nia.nih.gov/health/alzheimers/clinical-trials-leqembi and https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/alzheimers-disease/in-depth/alzheimers/art-20049727. Good luck to everyone dealing with this tough situation!

I can't believe the coughing can be a side effect

I've been giving my father Leqembi for a little while now, and I have to say, the IV infusions are a bit challenging. I was advised that we could try and do it at home but I feel more comfortable doing it in the clinic. Also, the long-term effects are still a mystery. If anyone has been on this for more than 6 months, I'd love to hear your thoughts. I do hope that over time it will slow the progression. I just miss who he used to be.
