Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Leucovorin Ca 200mg Inj, 1 Vial. I've been prescribed it to help with the side effects of methotrexate and I'm curious about what to expect. I've done some reading and it seems like it's generally well-tolerated, but I'd love to hear from people who have actually used it. What did your experience look like? What were the side effects? Did the treatment plan change at all? Any tips to help me navigate this? Thanks in advance!

I agree, it's crucial to stay in close contact with your medical team. They can help manage side effects and adjust your treatment plan if necessary.

Severe dizziness and fainting? Nope, not having any part of that.

Hoping the best to your treatment! It’s a rough road. Personally, I had a lot of depression and anxiety. Definitely talk to your doctor about it, they can help.

Foods high in folate like spinach and citrus fruits. But your best bet should be soft foods to help with your appetite. I had some ginger tea and a few crackers for those bad days to help with the upset stomach. Definitely very helpful!

If you experience any of the symptoms listed, just go to the ER. It's not worth risking your health. I know the symptoms look scary, but if you catch them early, you can get treatment quickly. If you do go to the ER, tell them you're on Leucovorin and methotrexate, so they know what to look for.

I had a similar experience. The first few doses were rough, but my doctor adjusted the timing and I felt better. It seems like Leucovorin actually does help with fewer side effects.

Are there any foods or activities that can help with some of the nausea from methotrexate?

I've used Leucovorin before and it was a lifesaver. It definitely helped mitigate the side effects of methotrexate. My main issue was I got a rash and then some itching and swelling, so I had to stay on top of my doctor and they reassured me and changed my treatment plan slightly, so no real issues.

Be prepared for some serious fatigue. It's not fun but it's manageable. The side effects list is scary. Pay attention to your body, and don’t hesitate to call your doctor if you feel uncomfortable. I had a friend pass out and be all dizzy and lightheaded — this is the type of thing you should call your doctor about. They’re there to help.
