I've been prescribed Levonor/eth Estradiol Tablets as a birth control method. The packaging insert is intimidating. Does anyone else use this and what's the real deal with the side effects? The sheet talks about blood clots which is a bit scary and how do you actually know if you have them? Also, anyone have issues with sun exposure? How does this affect the advice to use suncreen?

I've been on these for a few months now and so far, so good. Haven't experienced any major side effects. Just some spotting between periods, which my doc said could be normal.

I had some pretty bad spotting during my first few months, but it stopped after a while. I've also noticed some changes in my skin, like dark patches on my face. My doctor said it was due to the pill and recommended using sunscreen and wearing a hat when I'm outside. I didn't know this was something that could happen! Don't forget to mention your skin changes to your doctor!

I've had some pretty bad migraines since I started taking these. I've never had migraines before, so I'm not sure if it's related, but it's definitely a concern. I've been thinking about switching to a different brand or maybe a non-hormonal method. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I wish they'd make the packaging inserts less scary. I mean, who actually reads that whole thing? I had to Google some of the words to understand what I was getting into.

Did you know that blood clots can be prevented by staying active and keeping your weight in check? I didn't until I spoke to my doctor. Don't be too hard on yourself and make sure to stay healthy and active -- you won't even know you've got issues until you get checked out.

Seriously, how do you know if you have blood clots? My mom had a major one once and it was scary. Should I be looking for any little sign? How do you know if it's a clot or just my muscles?

I honestly didn't know how serious the side effects could be until I read the booklet. I was having a lot of discharge and itching but I called my doctor and it turns out it's a yeast infection and not the pill. Make sure you are getting the right info!

I think it's important to remember that everyone's body reacts differently to medication. What might be a major side effect for one person could be barely noticeable for another. That's why it's so important to pay close attention to how your body is feeling and talk to your doctor about any concerns.

I switched to this pill after having some issues with other birth controls. I experienced some mild headaches and mood swings initially, but they eventually went away. Apparently, my body just needed some time to adjust to the new hormones. As for sun exposure, definitely use sunscreen and protective clothing—and avoid tanning beds. The pill can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
