I just started taking Levonor/ethi 0.1/20 Tablets 28s and have been experiencing some side effects. I'm not sure if they're normal or if I should be concerned. I've read about potential side effects, but I want to hear from people who have actually taken this medication. How do you know if it's working? Have any of you experienced issues with spotting or changes in your menstrual cycle? My doctor didn't really explain the possible long-term effects either. Has anyone here been on this for a while? What are the most important things to watch out for with long-term use? What are the signs that you should definitely talk to your doctor about? Thanks in advance for your help!

Spotting is pretty common when you first start a new birth control, so don't worry too much about that. Just make sure to track it and let your doctor know if it gets worse or doesn't go away after a few months. I'd definitely watch out for any severe abdominal pain or really bad headaches. Those could be signs of something more serious. Also, if you have personal or family history of blood clotting, you need to be especially careful with this medication.

I'm glad the iron is helpful for you all! I had bad headaches and weight gain after three months, though. I'm looking at other options.

I had a lot of stomach cramps and nausea when I first started, but those went away after a few weeks.

What did you think of the sun exposure warnings that are in the pamphlet? Also, when should you start taking it if your period starts at the same time you get your pack? Do you take the first one on the first day of your period and then finish the pack? It's all confusing to me.

My doctor did a bunch of tests to make sure this was the right birth control for me. I'd recommend getting a thorough check-up before starting any new medication. My aunt had a really bad reaction when she switched to Levonor/ethi and had to go to the ER.

I switched to this from a different hormonal birth control because of the iron. I was getting really anemic, and it helped a lot.

I actually started Levonor/ethi after my doctor found out that I was low on iron. It's been a lifesaver since it's not only preventing pregnancy but also keeping my iron levels up. I've tried other birth control pills with iron, but the added hormonal component is really helpful.
