I recently had a myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) scan and was given Lexiscan (0.4mg/5ml) during the procedure. The medication helped increase blood flow to my heart, allowing the doctors to get a clear image of my heart arteries. However, I was surprised by the list of possible side effects, especially the severe ones. I’m curious if others have had similar experiences with Lexiscan and how they dealt with any side effects. Has anyone had any serious reactions or know of someone who did?

I had an abnormal heartbeat after taking Lexiscan. It was irregular and scary, but the doctors managed it quickly. They monitored me closely for a few hours, and everything went back to normal.

The feeling of warmth and flushing was the worst part for me. It's temporary but still unpleasant. I wish they could find a way to minimize those side effects.

I had a bad experience with Lexiscan. I had a rash and trouble breathing right after the injection. They stopped the test immediately and gave me Benadryl and steroids. I was OK after that, but it was scary.

I work in a cardiology department, and we use Lexiscan quite often. The vast majority of patients don't experience any serious side effects. But it's crucial to be aware of the signs of an allergic reaction or neurological symptoms. Always have medical professionals on standby just in case.

Definitely worth talking to your doctor beforehand to make sure you understand the side effects. Also, make sure you go with someone if you're feeling anxious. My mom was a great support to me.

I didn't know Lexiscan could cause neurological symptoms. That's pretty serious stuff. I’m glad I didn’t have any issues, but it’s good to be informed just in case. Thanks for sharing this info.

I got the medicine in my arm, and it pinched a bit, but I was so nervous, I didn't even want to admit it to the nurse. Did anyone else find it weird that it hurt a lot at first?
