Libervant 10mg Buccal Film is a new medication designed to help stop acute repetitive seizures, also known as seizure clusters or status epilepticus, quickly and effectively. It contains diazepam, a medicine that calms overactive brain signals by placing a thin film inside the cheek. While this sounds promising, I've heard mixed reviews from parents about its side effects and effectiveness. Has anyone here had experience with Libervant and can share their thoughts? Specifically, I'd love to hear about any side effects you've noticed and how well it works in stopping seizures. Additionally, how do you handle the administration process with your child, and do you have any tips for making it easier? Thank you in advance for any insights you can share.

Wow, that's a relief to hear. I was really worried about how my kid would react to it. I hope the docs will prescribe it to him soon.

I wonder what the long-term effects are, though. Has anyone looked into that?

I'm curious about how you administer it. My son hates anything in his mouth, and I'm worried he'll spit it out before it dissolves. Any advice?

I just started reading about this. It seems like a treatment that could really help some people. It's just so essential to get the seizures under control quickly when they happen. I'm glad to hear from people's experiences so far. It feels reassuring.

For the parents having trouble with the kid spitting it out: Try squishing it between your fingers as you place it. Sometimes my son goes for the film pretty roughly, but squishing it helps.

We've been using Libervant for a while now, and it's helped a lot. The seizures stop quickly, and the side effects have been manageable. It's a relief to have something that works so well. Worth the side effects, for sure.

The upside is that we don't need to worry about who's in the car and who's getting that injection. The downside is the side effects, like slurred speech and confusion, are terrifying. Easier to handle than long seizures, but still scary.

For us, it's been a bit hit-or-miss. My daughter doesn't seem to mind the film, but the drowsiness afterwards is tough. She's so out of it that it's hard to wake her up. It's a relief that the seizures stop, but the drowsiness is a problem we're trying to manage.

We started using Libervant a couple weeks ago. We've had a mix experience. It does work quickly to stop seizures, but my son has been hallucinating afterwards. It's scary to watch him go through that, and I'm not sure if it's worth the trade-off. I spoke to his neurologist about it and they said it's rare but possible. We're trying alternative approaches now, like adjusting other meds or seeing if a different therapy helps.

I've been using Libervant for my daughter for the past few months, and it's been a lifesaver. Before this, we were dealing with long, scary seizures that always left her exhausted. Now, we place the film inside her cheek, and within 10 minutes, the seizures stop. It's amazing how quickly it works. The only side effect we've noticed is some drowsiness afterwards, but it's worth it to keep her safe.
