Lidex 0.05% Gel 60gm: A Game-Changer for Eczema and Psoriasis? Or Just Another Strong Medication with Risks?
I've recently been prescribed Lidex 0.05% Gel for my persistent eczema. The doctor explained that it's a strong corticosteroid that should help with the redness, swelling, and itching. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it seems to be working, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else used this and to what degree are the side effects? How can I know if the side effects are dangerous? I've read about potentially severe reactions, so I'm a bit anxious. Thoughts? Tips? Please share your experiences or concerns about this medication.

I've had great success with Lidex for psoriasis. No major side effects here, just a bit of dryness. But I'm also really careful and use it sparingly. I wish I could tell what is 'normal dryness' vs when to worry. It's a bummer. It may be tough to know.
I had a bad reaction to Lidex a few years back. I remember waking up with this weird rash and fever. It turned out that I was indeed allergic to it. Yeah, I had to switch to something else, but that was my experience. It’s always good to be cautious and talk to your doctor about any adverse effects you might have.
I used Lidex for a while, and it helped with the itching, but the burning sensation was unbearable. I had to switch to something else. I did switch to something less strong and found the same effectiveness but with less burning. It's a bummer to have to find a new doctor as well, though. But, worth it. You should probably try it, but be prepared to switch if it’s too much.
I've used Lidex and had no issues. It's worked great for my eczema. I did get some dry skin, but nothing too bad. I just used some moisturizer and it was fine. It's tough to know if you'll react or not. You shouldn't be too worried if you haven't so far. You should be in the clear if it's worked so far.
I switched to a different topical cream because of the side effects. But I agree, it’s worth trying if your doctor thinks it’s the best option. Just be vigilant and report any issues. My eye kind of swollen and my doctor told me to stop using it.
