I recently had to use Lidocaine 2% Jelly Gel (uro-Jet) 5ml before a medical procedure, and I wanted to share my experience and gather some insights from others who may have used it. The gel is designed to numb the inside of the urethra, making it easier to insert a catheter or scope. The sensation was definitely unusual, but it worked well in numbing the area. I did experience some mild irritation afterward, which was a bit uncomfortable, but nothing too severe. I’m curious to know if anyone else has had similar experiences or any tips for using Lidocaine 2% Jelly? It's not a fun topic, but if anyone has tips and tricks, I'd love to hear them!

I used it before a cystoscopy and it was a game-changer. The procedure was way less painful than I expected. Just make sure to use the entire amount prescribed—don’t skimp on it. You might be tempted to 'save' some, but if the gel works well, you could really save yourself from discomfort. Plus, you want to avoid infection.

I did some research and found a study that suggests that the risk of side effects goes up if you use it too frequently. It’s worth keeping in mind if you need to use it regularly.

I gotta say, the whole process feels a bit invasive, but if it’s necessary for the procedure, it’s worth it. I just wish there were some more detailed instructions on how to apply it properly.

I've used it a few times and it's always a bit awkward, but totally worth it to avoid the discomfort. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully to avoid any issues.

I felt like I had a sore throat for a couple of hours after using the gel, especially if it's LIDOCAINE with a different brand than the uro-Jet. I was wondering if it was the same compound, or just a similar product that causes this. I'm curious about how different brands compare to the Uro-Jet -- has anyone else noticed a difference?

Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after applying it. I learned that the hard way when I accidentally touched my face and ended up with a weird rash.

Yeah, the irritation is no joke. I actually had to switch to a different type of numbing gel because the irritation was so bad.

I had no idea that methemoglobinemia could be a side effect! That’s scary stuff. But I've heard of people going to the ER because of this, so it's important to be aware. It’s good to know the signs to look out for.
