Lidocaine 3% Cream: My experience and serious side effects you should know about
I've been using Lidocaine 3% Cream for a few months now to help with some skin issues, and it's been a game-changer. The numbing effect really helps with the itching and pain, and it's nice that it's available over the counter. However, I've been reading about some serious side effects that I wasn't aware of before I started using it. Has anyone else had any experiences with this? I'd love to hear about it, and maybe we can warn others. On the bright side, I have not had any issues, but I was not aware of the side effects until I started searching online. Reading the instructions and descriptions online of the side effects has caused me to be a little scared, but I am still using it. I know that if I start having any of the side effects, I do not hesitate to call my doctor right away.

Seriously, who knew this stuff could cause acidosis? I had no clue. I wonder if it's worth the risk for something like skin itching. What do you guys think?
I've used Lidocaine for years and years for a variety of things, like numbing my skin for waxing or dealing with minor burns, and I've never had any issues. I guess I've been lucky, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for these side effects.
I had a friend who used this for a bad sunburn and ended up with some sort of skin discolouration. This has never happened to me, but I know someone who had this issue, and I am not sure what caused it.
I've had some severe itching and pain from a skin condition, and Lidocaine has been a lifesaver. I've never had any issues with it, but I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for any of these side effects. Thanks for bringing this up!
I've used Lidocaine for years for minor injuries and never had any issues. I did have a nasty case of poison ivy a few years back and lidocaine was a godsend. The OAA is a great website to find out about medically approved uses of drugs. It gives a list of conditions that the drug is useful for. I'm glad I didn't experience any of these side effects. You should really check it out
I dont know about the rest of you, but I can't even imagine dealing with something as serious as methemoglobinemia. That stuff sounds terrifying.
I've never had any issues with Lidocaine, but I've also never used it rectally. I can't imagine that would be comfortable. Has anyone here tried it that way?
I can't believe some of these side effects are even possible. I had no idea this stuff could cause seizures or changes in vision. I'm definitely going to be more careful with this stuff.
I had no idea that Lidocaine could cause some really serious side effects. I've been using it for years for minor stuff like waxing and it's my go-to, I did not know about these side effects. I had a friend who had a bad allergic reaction to it, and she ended up with a huge rash all over her body. It was scary. I'm definitely going to be more cautious now.
