Lidocaine 3%/Hydrocortisone 0.5% Cream: My Experience with Hemorrhoids Relief and Side Effects
I've been dealing with hemorrhoids for a while now, and my doctor recently prescribed Lidocaine 3%/Hydrocortisone 0.5% Cream to help with the discomfort. It's been a game-changer, but I've also noticed some side effects. I've been using this cream for about a week, and it's definitely helped numb the area and reduce the swelling. The hydrocortisone seems to be working well in terms of reducing inflammation, while the lidocaine takes care of the pain and itching. It's a bit uncomfortable to apply at first, but it's become a part of my nightly routine. Has anyone else tried this cream? How has your experience been? I'm curious to know if others have had any side effects. I've been getting some minor redness and a burning sensation, so I'm not sure if it's normal or if I should consult my doctor.

I've heard that you can't use this forever as the steroid can thin your skin. It's really good for short-term relief but something else might be needed for long-term.
This cream saved me during a flare-up. I didn't have any major side effects, but I did notice that it was very important to wash my hands right before and after applying it — it made a big difference for me.
I've been using this for a few weeks now and it's a lifesaver. I apply it before bed and it numbs the area to the point I don't even notice the pain anymore.
Be careful with this stuff. I had a friend who used it and ended up with a serious allergic reaction. It's rare, but it can happen. If you start to feel strange after applying it, get to the ER right away.
I've been dealing with hemorrhoids for a while and was desperate for some relief. This cream has been a godsend. Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully and don't use more than instructed. That's where mistakes happen.
I had no idea this cream was a combo of lidocaine and hydrocortisone. I thought it was just numbing stuff. My doc used it for a bad rash I had last year, so I think it's pretty safe.
