I've been using Lidocaine 4% Cream for minor skin procedures at home, and it's been a game-changer for reducing pain. However, I recently had a friend who experienced some pretty nasty side effects, and I wanted to share my experience and the information I found. Lidocaine 4% cream is great for numbing the skin and reducing pain or discomfort from minor skin procedures, insect bites, or minor burns by temporarily blocking nerve signals in the skin but it's essential to be aware of the potential side effects. The FDA has a long list of serious side effects, including signs of an allergic reaction, acidosis, methemoglobinemia, skin infection, respiratory problems, and more. I want to hear from others who have used this cream—the good, the bad, and the ugly. Stay safe out there, folks!

I've used Lidocaine 4% Cream for years for minor procedures and have never had any issues. It's amazing for numbing the skin quickly and effectively and is especially useful on the face where even topical anesthetics can be tricky. It has helped me out with tattoos and electrolysis sessions and is a must for anyone doing any DIY skin work.

Be careful with this stuff. I used it once and felt super dizzy and lightheaded. It was freaky. I never used it again.

I've used Lidocaine for tattoos and it helps, but I've also had some weird reactions. I got a strange tingling sensation that lasted for hours which wasn't fun. I think everyone's body reacts differently to it.

Just used it for the first time yesterday for a small cut and it worked like a charm. It's mind-blowing how effective it is at numbing the skin. I can see why doctors use it for minor procedures.

I had a bad reaction to Lidocaine once. It was scary—I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. Went to the ER and they explained it can cause an allergic reaction.

I've had itching and redness at the application site but nothing serious. Just make sure to follow the directions and don't overapply. It's great for insect bites and minor burns.

Always go for the topicals over injections, just my 2 cents. I got a lidocaine injection once and it hurt more than the actual procedure I was having done. I'd rather have a numbing cream any day.

I had no idea Lidocaine could cause methemoglobinemia. That's some serious stuff right there. I'll be extra careful next time I use it. Be careful out there and make sure you are using appropriate amounts. Too much can cause serious issues.

I had to take my kid to the ER for a severe reaction to Lidocaine. We didn't know it could cause seizures. It was terrifying for both of us. Now we are aware of all the possible side effects, so it's a good thing to know before using the cream. I've never used it since and I don't think I would ever use it again.

I just had a question. Can anyone tell me if Lidocaine 4% Cream is safe for use on babies? I have a toddler and I'm not sure if it's appropriate to use it on him for his insect bites.
