I recently started using Lidocaine 5% Topical Ointment 30gm for severe itching. The relief is amazing, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. I've read the list of urgent side effects and it's quite extensive. Has anyone else experienced any of these side effects? I'm particularly concerned about the signs of an allergic reaction and metabolic acidosis. I'd love to hear from others who have used this and can share their experiences and possibly solutions. Thanks!

Hmm, I've heard methemoglobinemia can be scary. Has anyone else experienced this? I've honestly tried to not think about those rare but scary side effects.

I've been using Lidocaine 5% Topical Ointment for a while now, and it's been a lifesaver for my chronic itching. The only issue I have is the application site gets irritated pretty easily when I apply it to sensitive areas, but it's worth the relief. I noticed that the side effects mentioned are quite extensive. I've never had any of the serious side effects, but I am cautious when using it. I make sure not to apply too much at a time and I always wash my hands thoroughly afterwards. It's important to follow the instructions carefully and keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms, but this is definitely not a drug to mess with.

I've used this for years and never had any problems. Just make sure you aren't applying it to broken skin, and you should be fine.

Has anyone else experienced the feeling of shakiness or twitching after using this ointment? It’s definitely a bit unnerving, and I’m wondering if it’s a normal side effect or if I should be concerned. I've tried not to worry too much but it does seem odd.

I'm super careful with this stuff. I always put on gloves when I apply it and make sure to wash my hands really well afterwards. Definitely don't want to ingest any by accident. The benefits of using it are great, but you have to be very careful.
