I was recently prescribed Lidocaine IV (Lidocain/d5w 8mg/ml Inj, 250ml) to manage irregular heartbeats. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. Did you experience any side effects? How did you manage them? What should I watch out for, aside from the obvious urgent side effects like allergic reactions and methemoglobinemia? Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated. I want to be prepared and informed about what to expect.

I had a panic attack just reading the side effects list. I'm glad to know that not everyone gets the worst-case scenarios, but it’s important to stay vigilant.

My mom was on Lidocaine IV. I had to learn about the signs of acidosis. If you feel confused, shortness of breath and fast heartbeat it might be acidosis. It was a scary thought, but we managed it with proper care. Here's hoping everyone else has a smoother experience!

Did anyone else feel a bit dizzy or lightheaded after starting this? It was a bit unnerving at first, but my doctor assured me it’s a common side effect.

I've been on Lidocaine IV for a while now and the only thing I've noticed is a bit of restlessness and slight anxiety. It’s manageable and my doctor says it's a common side effect for some people.

Lidocaine IV can be a lifesaver for controlling those nasty arrhythmias, but it’s crucial to monitor for signs of methemoglobinemia. If you notice any blue discoloration in your skin or lips, get to a doctor immediately. Trust me on this one.

I was nervous about starting Lidocaine, but my doctor explained that while the side effects list is long, most people don’t experience anything severe. Still, I keep a close eye on any changes.

I've had it too and my doctor mentioned that the side effects can vary widely from person to person. Stay in close contact with your healthcare provider and report any issues as soon as they arise. Better safe than sorry!

A friend of mine had a severe reaction to Lidocaine. It’s scary stuff. I hope everyone here takes the urge effects very seriously. If you notice something weird, don't play it off!
