I've been on Ranexa 1000mg ER for about 6 months now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. After trying countless medications with little success, my doctor prescribed me this one, and the difference in my angina symptoms didn't develop as frequently. It's not a cure-all, I still have some discomfort, but I've gone from daily attacks to once or twice a week. I really hope it continues to work, but I'm curious about long-term effects. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I know it comes with some nasty side effects, but I'm still in the honeymoon phase with this medication. Also, I notice some fatigue after taking it, but I know that can happen with any medicine, so I'm not too stressed about it. I just hope others find the same relief I have so far. How long have you been on this medication?

What should I do if I think my kidney is failing from this stuff? I know what the side effects are but how do I just evaluate how I feel and what my body is doing every day? Should I call my doctor to check?

every time I read about all these meds and their side effects I wonder if I'm just better off living with the chest pain.

My mom has been on Ranexa for a couple of years, and it's made a world of difference for her. She used to have daily angina attacks, and now it's maybe once a month. But I've also seen her deal with constipation and upset stomach from time to time. She's willing to deal with those side effects, though, since it's helped so much with the angina. Definitely worth talking to your doctor about if you're suffering from chronic chest pain.

A little bit off topic but does anyone know if there's a generic version of this medication? I'm sick of paying so much for it.

I've been on Ranexa for about a year now, and while it's helped with my angina, I've had some pretty nasty side effects. I get terrible headaches and dizziness almost every day. I've talked to my doctor about it, and we're going to try adjusting the dosage next time I see him. I've also had a few scares with my heartbeat feeling irregular which freaked me out. Has anyone else had to deal with that?

I had a bout of fainting when I first started taking this medication, I think it was a fluke thing and it's never happened again but still scary!

I'm so glad to hear that it's working for you! I've been on it for about 3 months, and I've had absolutely no side effects.
