I've recently started using Tiotropium Br 18mcg Caps & Handihaler for my COPD and wanted to share my experience so far. This medication is used once daily to help open up the airways, making it easier to breathe. It's not a rescue inhaler, so it doesn't help with sudden breathing problems, but it's supposed to make a big difference in the long term. I've heard mixed reviews from others who take it — some say it’s a game-changer, while others have had bad side effects. I'm curious to hear what others think, especially those with similar breathing issues. Do the benefits outweigh the risks? How has it worked for you with COPD and other conditions?

I've been on it for a year now, and it's been a lifesaver. No more constant wheezing, and my breathing tests show significant improvement. I do get a bit of dry mouth, but it's a small price to pay for being able to breathe better.

I’ve heard that some people experience a rapid heartbeat, but I haven’t had that issue. Has anyone else had this side effect, and if so, how did you manage it? Also curious about the potential eye issues since I’ve had some mild irritation recently.

Only downside is the cost. But seriously, I’d pay anything if it means I can breathe better. Knocking on wood that I won’t have any serious side effects. Fingers crossed.

I started having trouble passing urine and eye irritation after a few weeks. My doctor suggested trying a different medication, but I’m thinking of sticking with Tiotropium. Hope I don’t end up with a UTI. Can anyone tell me if the side effects go away with time? I’m worried this is a sign of something more serious.

This is a rescue inhaler?

I just started this medication and I'm scared of the potential serious side effects. I keep checking for any signs of an allergic reaction or UTI. Anyone have tips for managing the anxiety of potential side effects while starting a new medication?

Seriously, who thinks this stuff should cost so much? It’s ridiculous that people with COPD have to spend so much just to breathe properly. The pharmaceutical companies are robbing us blind.

Honestly, this one saved my life. No more rescue inhaler needed. I’m good until it runs out. I recommend everyone with COPD give it a try.

I had some constipation issues at first, but that went away after a couple of weeks. The biggest thing for me was getting used to the Handihaler, but once you figure it out, it’s pretty easy to use. Definitely worth the effort for the relief it provides.
