I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis a year ago and was put on Methotrexate 250mg/10ml Pf Single U. At first, I was terrified of the side effects, but my doctor assured me that with regular blood tests, we could manage it. I've been on it for six months now, and while I've had some hair loss and fatigue, nothing too severe. I'm just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience or if there are any tips for managing the side effects? I've heard horror stories, but also success stories. I'd love to hear from others who have been through this.

Can anyone confirm if the hair loss was the same for everyone. I've heard that it can be seasonal or maybe even genetic?

Does anyone know if there are any alternatives to Methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis? I'm really struggling with the side effects and I'm not sure how much longer I can take it.

I feel like the side effects are really overhyped. I've been on Methotrexate for a year and I've only had minor issues. But I do have regular checkups. Your mileage may vary, but it’s really important to keep up with the blood tests. In my case, the doctors and nurses monitoring me are the best part of this treatment.

I've been on Methotrexate for about 2 years now. Honestly, it's been a lifesaver. I remember the first few weeks were brutal, but my body adjusted. I do get regular blood tests and keep an eye on any signs of infection, which they say is really important. I agree with the OP, the side effects are manageable and Docs are great at watching for these. My advice? Follow your doctor's instructions like its your job, keep up with your blood tests, and keep an open line of communication with your medical team. It can be scary, but it's worth it to manage the RA.
