Has anyone else had severe reactions to Pantoprazole Sod 40mg Injection? I was given this for severe heartburn. It helped, but the side effects were brutal. I experienced severe diarrhea and muscle cramps. I had to stop taking it. What should I do?

I feel the side effects are often overstated. That's not to downplay your experience, but I've been on this for years and haven't had any major issues. This medicine is great.
I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's awful when medication that's supposed to help ends up making things worse. You should definitely speak with your doctor about this. Sometimes switching to a different class of drugs (like H2 blockers) can help. Mine has really helped with my reflux.
I've had severe diarrhea and vomiting with this. It was awful. My doctor switched me to something else and I haven't had any problems since. Be careful and definitely listen to your body.

That's horrible. I've heard of severe side effects with Pantoprazole but didn't realize they could be that bad. Have you talked to your doctor about alternate medication? Omeprazole has worked for me for years with no side effects.
