Life with Duragesic 100mcg/hr Patches: Your Experiences and Questions
Hi everyone, I've recently been prescribed the Duragesic 100mcg/hr patch for chronic pain management, and I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. I've heard quite a bit about fentanyl patches, but I'm looking for personal experiences, especially regarding the side effects. How have you managed any issues that have come up? Are there any tips or tricks for applying the patch or dealing with the side effects? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any long-term effects or how you've dealt with any immediate reactions. I'm also curious about the various ways you go about weaning off of the patch if you have.

I've been on the Duragesic patch for a while and have had some issues with the site of administration getting irritated. Make sure to rotate the site and keep the area clean. Also, keep an eye out for any signs of skin breakdown – I had a mild infection one time and it wasn't fun.
I switched from the patch to a different form of fentanyl delivery and it's been a game-changer for me.
Be very careful with these patches. I had a friend who accidentally got fentanyl on her skin and had a really bad reaction.
I had a really bad reaction to the Duragesic patch—my face swelled up and I couldn't breathe. Scariest thing ever. Seeking medical attention was the best decision.
I've used Duragesic for a few years now. The patches have been a lifesaver for my chronic pain, but I did experience some weird side effects at first. Mostly just dizziness and constipation. Talk to your doc about meds to help with those! Just make sure to wear gloves when applying the patch and keep it in a safe place if you have kids or pets around.
I find that the patch works best for me if I apply it right after a shower. Keeps my skin clean and dry, and the patch sticks way better.
I'm new to the patch and I've been feeling really dizzy. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
I switched from oxycontin to the Duragesic patch and haven't looked back. The patches are so much easier to manage than pills. Plus, I don't have to worry about taking them multiple times a day. Just make sure you keep the patches in a safe place where kids and pets can't get to them. I keep mine in a locked box.
I'm so over the constipation from these things! I've had to start taking stool softeners regularly. Anyone else?
