I've been on Esbriet 801mg Tablets for a few months now to manage my Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). It's been a journey, and I'm curious to hear from others who are taking this medication. How have you managed the side effects? Are there any tips or tricks you've found helpful? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any strategies for dealing with common side effects like dizziness, changes in taste, and stomach issues. I try to take it with food, as suggested, but I'm still having some trouble. Has anyone else dealt with these issues? I'd also love to hear about any long-term experiences with Esbriet. How has it affected your quality of life over time? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Esbriet has been a game-changer for me. I've had to deal with some side effects, but the trade-off is worth it to slow down the IPF. My advice? Stick with it, and talk to your doctor about managing the side effects. It's important to find what works for you.

This thread is a lifesaver. I’ve been really struggling with the side effects, but hearing that others have found ways to manage them gives me hope. I’m going to try the high-fat meal thing and see if it helps with the stomach issues. Thanks, everyone!

I feel like I’ve tried everything to manage the taste change and nothing works. It’s so frustrating. But I guess it’s a small price to pay for keeping the IPF at bay. If anyone has any new ideas, I’m all ears!

I've heard that taking it with food helps, but what kind of food makes a difference? Anyone had success with specific meals?

I wish I had known about the change in taste before I started. It's been the worst part for me. But I've found that strong mint candies help a bit. I’m hoping it will get better with time.

Esbriet can be tough, but it's worth it. I've had some muscle pain but it’s bearable. I had a situation where my doctor increased the dose and I was not feeling good after the second day, so I had to go back to the original dose. But the IPF didn’t progress at all last year. Keep going, and make sure to communicate with your doctor about any issues you face.

I just started Esbriet and the dizziness is killer. Anyone have any tips for that?

I started Esbriet last month and have had pretty bad nausea. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this and how they managed it.

I've been on Esbriet for over a year now, and while the side effects were tough at first, they've become more manageable. I found that taking it with a high-fat meal like avocado toast helps a lot with the stomach issues. Also, staying hydrated has been key for dealing with that awful change in taste. It's a journey, but it's worth it to slow down the progression of IPF.

I had some really bad skin reactions at the start, but my doctor had me use a higher SPF sunscreen and it helped a lot. Just be mindful of sun exposure – I wear long sleeves and a hat now, even when it's not super sunny. Also, make frequent breaks and walk around during the day. The spasms and the muscle pain hurt less since I started doing this. But I’ve learnt from experience that missing a pill is not an option.
