This drug has been a lifesaver. I had severe itching, but it turned out it was due to a different medication. I switched, and it's been smoother sailing.
I had a really bad reaction to Ocaliva. My doctor said it was a rare allergic reaction. Stay vigilant with your symptoms, and report them to your doctor.
I've been on Ocaliva for about six months now. The first few months were tough due to severe itching, but my doctor prescribed some topical creams and it's much more manageable now. Stick with it! I promise the side-effects ease with time.
Don't forget to keep an eye on your thyroid. My doctor wanted me to be on top of it.
I made a mistake and missed a few doses because I felt so tired all the time. My doctor explained that this can make the medication less effective, so I'm really careful about dosing now.
