Tegretol saved my life, literally. I was having seizures daily, but now I'm down to one or two a year. Side effects are manageable compared to what I was going through.
I switched to a lower dose because of the side effects. Talk to your doctor about adjusting your dosage if it gets too bad.
I switched to a different medication because the side effects were too much. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and try something else if needed.
Serious side effects are rare, but you should definitely be aware of them. If you notice anything alarming, go to the ER immediately. Better safe than sorry!
I'm on the lowest effective dose to avoid any unnecessary side effects. Still, I get the occasional headache. Stay hydrated and keep an eye on your sodium levels. Cheers!
