Life with Ventavis: Managing Pulmonary Hypertension with Iloprost Inhalation Solution
Ventavis (Iloprost) 10mcg/ml Inh Sol, 1ml is a medication used to treat pulmonary hypertension, a condition where the blood pressure in the lungs is too high. It's inhaled through a special nebulizer and works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels in the lungs. This makes it easier for the heart to pump blood, improving breathing and exercise ability. Despite its benefits, Ventavis can have side effects, some of which are serious and require immediate medical attention. I've been using Ventavis for a few months now, and while it's been helpful, I've experienced some side effects. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and how they've managed them. Also, what tips do you have for dealing with the more bothersome side effects, like jaw pain and flushing?

I've been on Ventavis for about a year, and it's really helped with my exercise tolerance. I still get some headaches, but they're manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers. My doctor says that if the side effects are manageable, there's no need to stop taking it and that the good it does outweighs the bad. I just wanted to chime in and encourage everyone to talk their doctors about how they feel about their treatment.
Ventavis has been a game-changer for me. I was struggling with shortness of breath constantly, and now I can actually do daily activities without feeling like I'm going to pass out. It's not perfect, but it's a vast improvement.
I hate to mention this, but someone asked about coughing up blood in the side effects. I had a minor episode this week. It was scary, but I called my doctor and they told me to call my ER if it happened again. Woo, I'm glad to have that out of the way
I started Ventavis a few months ago, but the dizziness is really impacting my daily life. Has anyone found a way to manage this?
I've had pulmonary hypertension for years and have had a difficult time finding a medication to control my symptoms. Since starting Ventavis, I've seen a huge improvement. I still have side effects but overall my life has improved.
The flushing is really bothersome. It's like I'm having a hot flash every time I use it. Anyone have any tips?
I've been on Ventavis for about a year now, and while it's helped with my breathing, the side effects can be tough. The jaw pain is the worst for me, but my doctor suggested using a heating pad before treatment to help relax the muscles. It's made a big difference!
I keep a log of how I feel each day and what side effects I experience. This has helped me and my doctor manage my treatment better. Has anyone else found this helpful?
