I was recently prescribed Firazyr (Icatibant) to manage attacks of angioedema caused by my Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). I've had HAE for over a decade, and attacks have always been a nightmare. I'd love to hear from others who've used Firazyr and their experiences. How effective has it been for you? What side effects did you encounter? Did you experience any allergic reactions or had to seek medical help? How does it compare to other treatments you've tried? I've heard it can be pricey and wanted to know if anyone has tips on managing the cost. I'm actually thinking about contacting the FDA to report a side effect I experienced recently, but now I'm second-guessing myself and worried I might be overreacting. Any advice?

I had to use my Firazyr for the first time last night. The swelling in my throat was scary, and I could barely breathe. Felt so much better after the injections.

Firazyr has been a game-changer for me. I've had HAE for years, but since starting Firazyr, the attacks have been much more manageable. I still get them, but the swelling goes down much faster. The injection site can be a bit sore, but it's worth it.

Firazyr isn’t cheap, that’s for sure. I had to fight with my insurance to cover it. But honestly, it’s worth every penny if it keeps you out of the hospital. I wish there were more generic options available, but I guess that’s the nature of rare disease treatments.

I tried Firazyr once but had a bad reaction. I got hives and my throat started to close up. I had to go to the ER. I'm not sure if it was the medicine or something else, but I won't be using it again. Be careful out there.

I'm new to all of this. My doctor just prescribed Firazyr, and I'm nervous. Has anyone else felt this way? Any tips for a first-time user?

Remember, always keep your Firazyr with you. You never know when an attack will hit. I had one at a restaurant once, and the staff was super helpful but having my Firazyr ready was a lifesaver.

Isn’t it crazy how something so small can cause so much trouble? I can’t believe how quickly Firazyr works though. It’s like magic.

I've been on Firazyr for a few months now, and I have to say, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I was worried about the side effects, but I've only had some mild dizziness and a bit of pain at the injection site. I've heard other treatments can be even worse. I really hope the FDA help me out.
