I've noticed my blood sugar levels have been a bit off since starting this medication. I talked to my doctor and we decided to keep an eye on it. I'm not sure it's actually the medication causing this, but it's worth noting.
I was on this medication but switched because of the potential for skin cancer. I lost my grandmother to melanoma, so I'm really cautious about anything that could increase my risk. Just be sure to do your research and talk to your doctor.
Has anyone had a problem with severe dizziness or passing out? I have to be careful, esp. whenever I am at work.
I've been on this combo for a few months now. It's definitely helped with my blood pressure, but I've experienced some dizziness and headaches. Not too bad though. Staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water helps me and I am going to talk to my doctor about these headaches soon.
I've been on Valsartan/HCTZ for years and it's been a game-changer for my blood pressure. My doctor monitored my potassium levels regularly, which can drop with this medication.
Make sure you wear sunscreen and protect your skin from UV rays, especially since this medication can increase the risk of skin cancer. I wear lots of hats and long sleeves when I'm outside, just to be safe.
I've had some eye problems with this medication. On the plus side my blood pressure is under control and I think that's worth it to me.
