I've been prescribed Lithium Carbonate 150mg Capsules for my bipolar disorder. I've heard it can be a game-changer, but the list of side effects is terrifying. Has anyone here had a positive experience with this medication? How often do these serious side effects actually occur? Any tips for managing them if they do? I'm really struggling with the decision to start taking this. My doctor is confident it will help, but I'm scared of the risks.

The thyroid issues are no joke. I ended up with Graves' disease from taking Lithium. Be prepared for that possibility.

I wish more people talked about the cognitive side effects. It's like a constant brain fog for me. Not fun.

As long as you're monitored closely, Lithium can be amazing. My doctor checks my blood levels every three months. It's a hassle, but worth it to stay stable.

I had to stop taking it because of the side effects. My hair fell out and I gained so much weight. It's terrible. Don't be fooled by how many people say it's fine. It's not for everyone.
