I've been prescribed Lithium Carbonate ER 450mg Tablets for my bipolar disorder. I'm hoping it will help stabilize my mood swings, but I'm also really concerned about the side effects. I've heard some horror stories. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? How have your experiences been? I want to manage my expectations and see if there are any tips to manage the possible side effects.

I wish more people understood that Lithium isn't a cure-all. It's a powerful tool, but it's not an easy fix. Be patient and keep the lines of communication open with your doctor.

Lithium saved my life, but it's not a magic pill. You still have to do the work—therapy, self-care, all of it. It's a tool to help you get there.

Be prepared for some trial and error. Different people metabolize lithium differently. It might take some time to find the right dose for you.

I had a rough start with Lithium. The side effects were tough, but my doctor adjusted the dose and it got better. Stick with it, but keep a close eye on how you're feeling.

My doctor warned me about the potential for thyroid problems. Regular check-ups are a must!

I'm on 450mg ER too, and I have to be really careful with my hydration. Dehydration can cause lithium toxicity. I set reminders to drink water throughout the day.

I've gained a lot of weight since starting Lithium. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, do you have any tips?

Lithium has been a game changer for me. I've been on it for years and it's helped stabilize my moods. Just make sure to have regular blood tests to monitor your levels. Don't be alarmed by the side effect list. It's thorough, and most people don't experience the severe ones.

I switched to Lithium after trying several other meds. It's been the most effective for me, but I do have to watch my salt intake. The extended-release tablets have helped with some of the side effects.
