Livalo 1mg Tablets: My Experiences with Pitavastatin and Managing Cholesterol
I've been taking Livalo 1mg Tablets (Pitavastatin) for the past 6 months now. I started this medication after my doctor noticed my cholesterol levels were rising, particularly LDL. This medication does seem to help. It's important to note that I do experience digestive issues from these pills. I'd love to hear from others about their experiences with Livalo. What side effects have you encountered, if any? I want to know is there anyone on this sub who get the same side effects that I get. I've been told the side effects should subside eventually. It's been tough, but I hope it's worth it in the long run. My doctor knows about the pain, but I don't want to tell her again that it is so severe I can't function. It's to the point where I can't stand pain in my legs. So far I have not encountered any life-threatening conditions from the med, but if I did I would have to go to the hospital. Maybe a trip to the pharmacy would have to happen to get some pain meds. What do the rest of you think? Have you ever been hospitalized due to your medication? If you are 65 or older, or have a history of kidney problems or hypothyroidism, be extra careful and monitor any muscle pain, as it can lead to kidney issues. Always good to discuss with a doctor. I do also have a history of taking medications that can cause muscle pain, so I've been extra diligent in paying attention to that symptom. I don’t want to make my kidney problems worse. It can be tough to be on a medication with so many potential side effects, but I am cautiously optimistic.

I have not noticed the pain. My doctor told me that it's none of the common side effects, so I guess I got lucky with this one. But that could be why I was put on the medication.
I've been on Livalo for a year now, and it's been a game-changer for me. My LDL levels have dropped significantly, and I haven't experienced any major side effects, thank goodness. Just a bit of muscle stiffness here and there, but nothing too concerning.
I switched to Livalo from another statin because of muscle pain, and it's been a lot better. Just a bit of back pain, but it's manageable. Plus, my cholesterol levels are finally where they should be. I have hypothyroid issues, so I had to be careful.
My experience has been good so far. I've got to focus on eating right and getting exercise help keep my cholesterol down.
I am on this medication and it has done an amazing job of lowering my cholesterol. I am also on hemlock for the pain.
I had to stop taking Livalo because of severe muscle pain. I went to the doctor and he told me I had rhabdomyolysis, which can be life-threatening.
I’ve only been on Livalo for a few weeks, but I’m noticing some muscle tenderness. I’ve read that this can be a sign of something serious, but I’m hoping it’s just a minor side effect. I’m going to discuss this with my doctor at my next appointment.
Did anyone else have digestive issues when they first started? I've been dealing with some constipation, but it’s starting to get better. I’m trying to stay on top of my fiber to get rid of these issues.
I appreciate that we're discussing this here. I was nervous to try Livalo because of all the potential side effects, but I'm glad to hear that some people are doing well on it. My doctor even told me I may have some side effects and to even get checked in the hospital if they are severe. So far my pain is not that bad, but my doctor thinks it's part of the medication.
How often do you guys get your cholesterol levels checked? I’m trying to stay on top of my health, but it’s tough to keep up with all the appointments. It's even tougher when I am working and I have to take time off to take a new pill.
