I was recently prescribed Nitroglycerin 0.6mg Sub Tabs for managing my angina. I'm aware that it works by relaxing blood vessels to increase blood and oxygen flow to the heart, but I'd love to hear from others who have experience with this medication. How often do you take it? What side effects have you encountered? How do you manage them? Looking forward to hearing your stories and advice on getting the most out of this treatment.

Make sure you're not taking too many at once. I thought I was supposed to take one every 5 minutes until the pain went away. Turns out, that's not true. My doctor explained that you can take up to three doses in a 15-minute period, but no more than that. The nitroglycerin can become less effective if you use it too much.

I'm pretty sure this medication has saved my life. I had a bad episode a while back and my doctor told me it worked quickly to relieve the chest pain. I always keep some on me.

The worst part for me is the headache. It's a necessary evil, but man, those headaches can be brutal. I've started taking a low dose of aspirin with the nitroglycerin to help mitigate the headache.

Does anyone else feel self-conscious about taking these tabs in public? It's not like you can just pop a pill—you have to place it under your tongue. I usually try to find a quiet spot, but it can be embarrassing sometimes otherwise.

Be prepared for a quick acting medication. It can hit you fast. Make sure you're sitting or lying down when you take it, because the blood vessel dilation can make you feel woozy. And avoid alcohol while taking it.

I've been on Nitroglycerin for a while now and it's been a game-changer. I take it as needed, usually when I feel that tightness in my chest. The side effects can be a bit annoying—mostly headaches and dizziness—but they're manageable. Just make sure to sit down when you take it because it can make you feel a bit lightheaded.

I've had to be cautious with nitroglycerin because it interacts with some of my other medications. Always double-check with your doctor to make sure it's safe for your specific situation.

I had a bad experience with naloxone. I took it and immediately felt a burning sensation in my mouth. That was enough to freak me out. I called 911 to get checked out. Luckily, I didn't have an allergic reaction or anything serious, but it was scary. Do you experience any side effects?
