I was recently prescribed Pirfenidone 267mg Capsules for my Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and it's been a rollercoaster. The medication is supposed to slow down the lung scarring, but it comes with a list of side effects that can be quite daunting. I'm trying to find a balance between managing the side effects and ensuring the medication is doing its job. I've read about the potential for severe allergic reactions and liver problems, which is frightening. Has anyone else experienced these issues? How have you coped? Any tips or tricks to managing the more common side effects like dizziness or stomach pain would be greatly appreciated. I'm also curious about the long-term effects of this medication. I know my doctor is monitoring me closely, but I'm always looking for more insights from others who have been through this.

Pirfenidone has honestly been a lifesaver for me. It really helps with the progression of my IPF. The side effects are tough, but they aren't anything I can't handle. Plus, my doctor keeps a close eye on my liver function, so I feel pretty safe.

I've been on Pirfenidone for about a year now, and while it's not a walk in the park, it's definitely manageable. I take it with food to avoid stomach issues, and my doctor prescribed me something for the dizziness. Just make sure to stay in touch with your healthcare provider.

I've heard from a friend that taking it with a full glass of water helps with the stomach pain. It's worth a shot if you're struggling with that side effect.

I had a bad reaction to this med. Got really sick with an upset stomach and yellow skin. Turned out to be liver problems. It was scary, but my doctor caught it early. So yeah, watch out for those signs!

Anyone else feel like they have a constant cold while on this? It's like my body can't decide if it's IPF or the Pirfenidone causing the sinus pain.

I'm surprised how many people are on this medication. It’s a tough one to deal with, and I've had my fair share of side effects. Try to keep a positive outlook – it’s all about perspective!

Feeling dizzy, tired, or weak... yeah, that’s a daily thing for me. Sucks to live with IPF. I hope the Pirfenidones working though!

I tried Pirfenidone for a few months, but the side effects were just too much for me. In the end, my doctor and I decided to switch to a different medication. It’s important to listen to your body and talk to your doctor about any concerns you have.

My doctor is always reminding me to stay hydrated. My chest pain went away after I started drinking more water and taking regular breaks to rest.
