Living with Kidney Disease: Experiences with Calcium Acetate 667mg Capsules
I've been on dialysis for a few years now and recently started taking Calcium Acetate 667mg Capsules to manage my phosphate levels. So far, it's been helpful, but I'm curious to hear from others who have similar experiences. Have any of you had to deal with the side effects? I've heard about some urgent side effects that sound scary, but I'd appreciate some first-hand accounts, good or bad.

Sometimes I wish these side effects would be less of a pain. I guess it's better than the alternative though right?
Definitely agree, the side effects can be tough. I had some bad constipation and feeling weak, but it could be just dialysis fatigue too. I'd hate to skip it, but it's hard to know if it's worth the trouble.
You should avoid dairy if you're getting bone pain, and might need to take a break from the calcium acetate to let your body calm down.
I was really scared when I read about the allergic reactions. Luckily, I haven’t had any of those symptoms. Just a bit of nausea here and there, nothing too bad.
I'm taking these and I'm actually feeling better. My energy levels are up and my blood tests are looking good. Maybe the side effects others are having are due to other issues?
So far, I've only had mild stomach issues. My doctor warned me about the serious side effects, but I haven't encountered anything like that. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
