For those of us managing myasthenia gravis, Mestinon 60mg tablets have become a crucial part of our daily routine. This medication helps improve muscle strength by increasing acetylcholine levels, making a world of difference in our daily lives. However, like any medication, it comes with potential side effects. I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with Mestinon. How do you manage the side effects and what tips do you have for new users? Has anyone had any serious reactions that required medical attention? And what does your routine look like when taking this medication? Share your stories and advice below!

This thread is so helpful. I’ve heard about Mestinon but never really understood how it works. Acetylcholine levels make so much sense now. Makes me feel more comfortable taking this medication.

My doctor told me to be especially aware of trouble breathing and stomach issues. Coincidentally, I actually experience hard breathing in my first few months of taking this. It went away after a while, but I was in the hospital for a bit. I think I’ve been more cautious since.

I had a scary reaction with excessive sweating and slow heartbeat. Thankfully, I sought medical help right away. It’s so important to be vigilant with these symptoms.

I've been on Mestinon for years and never had any serious issues. Just keep monitoring your muscle strength and any new symptoms. I highly recommend regular checkups with your neurologist

Mestinon has been a game-changer for me. I've had some stomach issues, but they're manageable. Just make sure to take it with food and you should be okay. I’d recommend keeping a log of your side effects to show your doctor.

I've had muscle cramps and twitching, but nothing too bad. I find that stretching before taking it and before bed helps a lot. Also, drinking plenty of water can help.

I’ve been on Mestinon for a year now and it’s been a lifesaver. I’ve had some weird side effects, like excessive saliva production, but it’s manageable. Staying hydrated and eating light helps a lot.
