I was recently prescribed Olmesartan/amlod/hctz 40-5-25mg T for my high blood pressure. The medication is a combination of Olmesartan, Amlodipine, and Hydrochlorothiazide, which together help lower my blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and reducing fluid retention. However, I've been experiencing some side effects and I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. I've noticed dizziness, fatigue, and some muscle weakness, which can be quite disruptive to my daily activities. I'm also concerned about the potential for more serious side effects like kidney problems or fluid and electrolyte imbalances. I've been keeping a close eye on my symptoms and have scheduled an appointment with my doctor to discuss these concerns. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on managing these side effects or if anyone else has had similar experiences with this medication.

I've noticed some swelling in my ankles and legs. Is that normal?

I've heard that this medication can cause skin cancer. Is this true? How can I minimize the risk?

This is a tough one. I have a friend who was on this med and had some really bad side effects. It's good to know that there are people here who have had success with it, though.

Don't worry about the swelling it's why we have the 'water pill' in there. It has been a bit of a challenge finding the right dosage of the Hydrochlorothiazide though so if it's a lot maybe talk to your doctor about tweaking the dosage?

I'm on this medication and I have to say, the side effects have been manageable. I do get a bit of fatigue, but it's nothing compared to the relief from my high blood pressure. Do you wear a fitness tracker or anything like that? I've noticed that monitoring my blood pressure and heart rate has been really helpful in keeping track of how I'm doing.

I've been on this med for a while and the dizziness has been a real issue. I found that drinking more water and eating a bit more salt helps. I have to be careful but it's worth it to not have the dizziness. Sure beats the alternative!

One thing I've learned is that it's really important to take this medication at the same time every day. Consistency seems to help with the side effects. It took me a couple weeks to get into the habit though.

I started taking this medication a few months ago and it has been a lifesaver for my blood pressure. I haven't experienced any major side effects, just a bit of headache that goes away with a bit of ibuprofen. I've made sure to stay hydrated and avoid dehydrating myself, which helps keep my symptoms in check.

The risk is there, but it's quite rare. My doctor recommended using sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and wearing protective clothing when outdoors. Regular skin checks are also important to catch any issues early. I use a moisturizer with sun protection so my skin stays hydrated and protected.
