I was recently prescribed Oxymorphone ER 40mg tablets for managing severe, persistent pain. The doctor emphasized the importance of taking it exactly as prescribed, given its strong opioid nature and potential risks. I've read through the possible side effects and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else taken this medication long-term? What has your experience been like? How do you manage the side effects, particularly the constipation and drowsiness, if they occur?

Also, what should I do if I notice any of the urgent side effects listed, such as allergic reactions or serotonin syndrome? Should I go straight to the ER or call my doctor first? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I wish I had known about the adrenal gland problems before starting this medication. I've had to make frequent trips to the doctor because of it. I'm so sick of these side effects.

Serotonin syndrome is no joke. I've heard horror stories about it. If you start feeling agitated, confused, or get a fever, get to the ER immediately. Don't mess around with this one.

Be very careful with this medication. It's highly addictive. One wrong step and you might end up dependent on it. Always take it exactly as prescribed and don't share it with anyone.

I've been taking these for a while and I've found that the side effects are manageable.

Have you considered other pain management options like physical therapy or acupuncture? Sometimes these can help reduce the need for strong pain meds.

Mood changes can be a real issue. Make sure you have support from friends or family during this time. I had no idea how bad it could get until I started on this medication.

I take Oxymorphone ER 40mg Tablets and it's been a struggle. The dizziness and fatigue can be overwhelming, but I just make sure to take it as prescribed and talk to my doctor regularly.
